Can a new drug help to alleviate stress?

New in the Daily Mail today was this report that Scientists are working on a jab to help the brain cope with un-managed stress.

“After 30 years of research into cures for stress, Dr Robert Sapolsky, professor of neuroscience at Stanford University in California, believes it is possible to alter brain chemistry to create a state of ‘focused calm’.”

This sounds remarkably like the state that stress management Hypnotherapy helps to induce and that can be learned and practised so easily in a few sessions.

The report doesn’t mention how this jab might help remove the stress caused by the fear of needles – maybe that’s coming sometime soon!
