Believe it or not, I used to be a workaholic businessman, running a successful but frantic import business. Every day, I was interacting with people who were becoming increasingly affected by the pressures of their daily lives. Anxiety seemed inescapable, and inevitably illness of some kind would be the result.

My own personal search led to a chance encounter and subsequent friendship with the late Dr David Waxman. He was Harley Street’s pre-eminent psychiatrist, President of British Society of Medical and Dental Hypnosis, and mentor to a certain Paul McKenna.

This incredibly fortuitous relationship sparked a fascination with hypnotherapy and its miraculous ability to help with so many difficulties. The choice became obvious, and as soon as circumstances allowed, I decided to become a therapist with the aim of specialising in anxiety control and stress management.

I had by this time already trained in performance and lifestyle coaching, and was working with many of the UK’s most dynamic companies; helping their top people to achieve their potential in a way that equally enhanced other important areas of their lives.

I first began practising in Highgate in North London and in Radlett in Hertfordshire. In 2008, I opened therapy rooms in the City of London and East London, and at the Gestalt Centre in Shoreditch. I also now run a clinic one day a week in South Woodford at the East London Counselling and Hypnotherapy Rooms.

I realise how difficult it can be when deciding to seek help with a personal issue or problem, especially at the very time in your life when you need clarity and understanding above all.
